With over twenty years of dealmaking and capital markets experience across corporate and real estate sectors, Creig Veldhuizen brings a rare brand of creativity, attention to detail, and financial acumen to each and every land deal. He has successfully led, managed and closed over $1 billion in various capital markets transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt, equity, tax-exempt special district bond financings and land transactions. While his primary focus is on structuring, financing and managing the financial aspects of land development projects, Mr. Veldhuizen has developed expertise in marketing, sales and public relations over the last several years.
Over the last ten years Mr. Veldhuizen has managed the finance and marketing functions for Terra Causa’s flagship project, Candelas, a $250 million master-planned community entitled for over 2,200 residential units and over 7 million square feet of commercial space. He has also been intimately involved in securing all necessary entitlements for the project as well as the construction of and sales of finished lots to homebuilder clients. Mr. Veldhuizen also possesses extensive Metropolitan District management experience as he has served on nearly a dozen Metropolitan District boards and he currently serves as a board member for three Metropolitan Districts in connection with the Candelas project located in Arvada, Colorado. In his capacity as a board member for each District he has led the bond issuance programs that financed large public infrastructure projects.
Mr. Veldhuizen’s land development career began in 2001 as a Financial Manager for a publicly traded homebuilding firm in Florida. He continued working in the public homebuilding industry until late 2005 at which time he left Lennar Homes to start Terra Causa Capital with Brian Daly.
Mr. Veldhuizen holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994.

Prior to forming Terra Causa Capital with Creig Veldhuizen, Mr. Daly served as the President of the Colorado Land Division for Lennar Corporation. In this capacity he managed a land asset portfolio of $186 million and led a team of thirty-three associates. Under Mr. Daly’s leadership the division delivered over 3,600 finished lots and sold $87 million worth of land and finished lots to third party homebuilders in 2005.
Mr. Daly’s real estate development career began with US Home in 1983. He quickly progressed to become the Colorado Division President in 1988 (for the first time). While Brian was Division President from 1988 to 1991 the division increased sales volume from 481 units to 1,180 units. Later, in 1995, the division generated $14.5 million in profit, making it the largest profit center in the US Home Corporation that year.
In 1996, Mr. Daly left US Home to start his own land development and homebuilding company, which he ran until 2003. One of his key achievements during that time was entitling a 305-acre development in Arvada, Colorado named Spring Mesa. Brian later led the negotiation and sale of the property to DR Horton, earning his investors an impressive return.
Mr. Daly is a well-known leader in the Denver real estate development industry. His accomplishments have been recognized on numerous occasions. In 1993, he received the “Trader of the Year” award for closing in excess of $120 million in 1031 tax-deferred exchange transactions. Later in 1995, he won the Denver Business Journal’s “Deal Maker of the Year” award in public finance. Also, in 1996, he received a “Smart Growth” award from the Governor of Colorado, Roy Romer, for his role in helping the state purchase additional land dedicated to the state park system.
